DOUBLE KNOT
High Definition Video with Sound, Duration: 3 min 46 sec. Loop, Aspect Ratio 16:9, 2 Ch Stereo, 2015
While inspired by knots that appear in daily life, such as those in shoelaces and rope, a mathematical knot differs in that the ends are joined together so that it cannot be undone, the simplest knot being a ring (or "unknot"). In this performance-based video, we instruct each other to tie a “double knot” as we ready to pull through our wall of stuff – the commercial burden we impose on ourselves and we attempt to break through and be undone.
